Thursday, 9/5/2019

We read aloud p.14 from the Gallopade book and discussed the material.
We also learned a "dance" to remember Wendi and the three ways he unified China.  After working in table groups, most students finished the sheet and had a minute or two to finish the vocabulary from yesterday.
Tomorrow, we will focus on the use of the chrome books. There will NOT be a quiz tomorrow.

Friday, 9/6/2019

Students were able to read a Newsela article on "The Cultural Heights of the Han Dynasty" at their own pace and reading level since we had the chrome books.  After three separate readings of the short passage, students took a five question quiz over the material.  There were a few remaining minutes that allowed students to confirm if they had both worksheets complete from this week.  Progress Reports were also distributed to all students.
Have a wonderful weekend!!!

Tuesday, 9/3/2019

I so appreciate Mr. Ryan Smith filling in for me during my doctor's appointment!!! The students read and discussed pp.178-181 in the traditional green textbook. Mr. Smith also distributed a handout that covered the reading material more fully.  Thank you to the students for working hard and treating him so respectfully!!

Wednesday, 9/4/2019

Students were given the opportunity to catch up on any unfinished work as the deadline for progress reports draws closer.  Students were asked to turn in their Labor Day Review Sheets (both sides) and the handout Mr. Smith gave them yesterday.  For those who were finished with both, I gave them the eight vocabulary words to define.  We will not be having a quiz this Friday, but students will work on a project with the chrome books.
