It is my pleasure to begin my 26th year in middle school!!!  I truly believe teaching is a calling, and I love the
opportunity to watch young minds expand and develop!!
I have been married to the love of my life for the last twenty-two years, and we have two amazing children!!!! Our daughter, Mary Beth,
starts her second year at Lee this year. Our son, JimBo, is a freshman at Walker Valley.
I will again be sponsoring the OMS yearbook, and I enjoy spending a great deal of time at our church, North Cleveland Baptist.  My husband is a deacon, and I enjoy singing in the choir.
I am looking forward to a wonderful year!!!!!

Students were given their new group assignment/seating arrangement.  We began examining our new textbook from Gallopade.  We previewed pages 1-4 and began the Introduction to Geography on p. 5.  We made a foldable and took copious notes over the material on p. 5 ,including drawing and labeling the seven continents.    We learned a "dance" for remembering the 3 main things about Geography (location, climate, and natural resources). All these items will be covered on this Friday's quiz, so use the foldable as a Study Guide. This Friday's quiz will be a paper version since Mr. Henry will be using the computers for the rest of I-Ready testing.

Students were given instructions in making a sixteen spaced Bingo board and given a list of categories to fill into those spaces.  Directions were also given to explain the rules and procedures of the game.  Several rounds were played to review some of the highlights of the sixth grade World History curriculum.
We also played two rounds of Concentration as a whole group.

We had a great first FULL day!!! It was nice to get to see everyone in every class!!!  After I showed a brief power point about myself, I also shared a song to celebrate the theme of learning together this year!!!
We completed a Class Sheet by moving around the room to get autographs from fellow students (and Mrs. Canida) beside statements that described something we have done, etc.
We also brainstormed a little about last year's World History Curriculum to help us prepare for an assessment on Friday.
I can already tell we have a WONDERFUL group of students!!!! This is going to be a FANTASTIC year!!!
