All About ME!
Hello! My name is Laura McBee, and I look forward to being your child's teacher this year. I was born (and have lived my entire life) in Cleveland and am a proud product of Bradley County Schools. I have continued the tradition with my children; they have all been Bradley County School System students. I am the mother of six children, the Nonni, to six grandchildren, and a seventh and eighth grandchild due soon. Five of my children have graduated from high school, and two ventured to college to obtain degrees. The other three went straight into the workforce. I still have a child at the high school level, a grandson in the sixth grade, and a grandson in Pre-K. Outside of the classroom, I love spending time with my family, gardening/landscaping, traveling, reading, and spending as much time at a body of water (beach, lake, river, or pool) as possible!
I have worked in Bradley County Schools since 1996. I held several para-pro positions at different elementary schools while earning my Bachelor of Science from Lee University in 2003. I obtained a Master's Degree from Carson-Newman University in 2019. I taught at the kindergarten/ first-grade level until moving to the middle school level in 2015. This is the beginning of my seventh year at OMS, and I must say, "This is where I was meant to be!" I thoroughly love what I get to do each day- SPEND THE DAY WITH YOUR CHILDREN!
This is a wonderful school for children to learn and thrive while navigating difficult middle school years. I promise to love and cherish the students in my class (and those not in my class) as if he or she were my own.
I look forward to the year ahead with your children, and I thank you for the opportunity to be a part of their lives.
