Welcome

Hello, my name is Kent Smith and I am the 8th Grade Principal here at OMS for the 2023-24 school year.  I am looking forward to having another great year with the class of 2028.  This is my 15th year here at OMS, serving as Assistant Principal, Athletic Director and Attendance Director.  This is my 22nd year in education, as I served as a Math Teacher and Assistant Baseball Coach at Walker Valley High School from 2002-2009.  I love my job and I love coming to work everyday to help students grow in so many areas.  Middle School is my passion and I hope this year is a great one.  I am married to Cayci Goins Smith, who is a PE teacher here at OMS.  We have two wonderful children, Catcher(9) and Brooklyn(8).  Catcher and Brooklyn both attend North Lee Elementary School.
