Dear Students:
Welcome to our World History classroom. I am very excited about being your teacher! I know that we will learn a lot this year. I believe that learning should be fun and exciting, and I want you to know that I will expect a lot from each of you this year.
I graduated from UTC and have a Master's Degree from Tusculum College. This is my ninth year teaching middle school. I taught the fourth grade for fifteen years, and I taught one year in the 5th grade. I coached the math team for five years and taught an after-school enrichment class for seven years. I enjoy teaching all subjects, but world history and math are definitely my favorite. I also like to do a lot of hands-on activities and use technology in our classroom.
At home, I have three beautiful children. Stephen is 22 years old, and he is in law school at UT in Knoxville. Anna Beth is almost 20 years old, and she got a basketball scholarship to Lee University. She played for Bradley a couple years ago. Then, the youngest is Callaway. He is thirteen and will be on the Walking Horse's Team this year. Callaway plays football for OMS. I also have a boxer named Zoey. She is such a mess! I know that I will have many stories to tell you about our dog, Zoey.
I love my job and there isn't any other occupation that I would rather have or any other place that I would rather teach than here at OMS. Remember, that each one of you is very special to me.
