All About ME!
Hello! My name is Laura McBee, and I look forward to being your child's teacher this year. I was born (and have lived my entire life) in Cleveland and I am a proud product of Bradley County Schools. I have continued the tradition with my children; they have all been students in the Bradley County School system. I am the mother of six children and the Nonni to three grandchildren, and a fourth grandchild due this fall. Five of my children have graduated from high school and two of those ventured on to college to obtain degrees, while the other three went straight into the workforce. I still have a child at the high school level and a grandson in the third grade. Outside of the classroom, I love spending time with my family, gardening/landscaping, traveling, reading and spending as much time at a body of water (beach, lake, river, or pool) as I can!
I have worked in Bradley County Schools since 1996. I held several para-pro positions at different elementary schools while gaining my Bachelor of Science degree from Lee University in 2003. I went on to obtain a Master's Degree from Carson-Newman University in 2019. I taught at the kindergarten/ first-grade level until moving to the middle school level in 2015. This is the beginning of my seventh year at OMS and I have to say, "This is where I was meant to be!" I thoroughly love what I get to do each day- SPEND THE DAY WITH YOUR CHILDREN!
This is a wonderful school for children to learn and thrive while navigating through the difficult middle school years. I promise that I will love and cherish the students placed in my class (and those not in my class) as if he or she were my own.
I look forward to the year ahead with your children and I thank you for the opportunity to take part in their lives.
