8th Grade Computer Science Foundations (Year-Long High School Credit Course)

This advanced middle school course provides a full high school–level Computer Science Foundations experience, preparing students for Cybersecurity, AI, Engineering, and AP Computer Science pathways in high school. Students learn how computers really work — not just how to use them — through hands-on learning with Python programming, algorithms, data systems, networks, cybersecurity concepts, digital citizenship, and real-world responsible technology use.

Students gain a strong foundation in critical thinking, logic, problem decomposition, and secure digital practices, using professional platforms and tools. This course aligns with Tennessee Computer Science high school standards and builds the core mindset needed for future careers in STEM, cybersecurity, software development, robotics, and AI.

This class is ideal for students who want a serious, future-oriented technology course with transferable high school credit value.

6th/7th Grade Intro to Computer Science (9-Week Rotation Course)

This fast-paced introductory course is designed to ignite curiosity and build confidence in the world of computer science. Students explore the foundations of coding logic, computational thinking, algorithms, digital citizenship, AI awareness, and real-life technology applications through fun, interactive, and hands-on learning.

Students rotate through engaging learning experiences such as block coding, robotics, digital simulations, cybersecurity puzzles, problem-solving games, and storytelling with code. The focus is on understanding the “why” behind technology — not memorizing — to prepare students for future advanced courses like Computer Science Foundations or Cybersecurity.
